Tonight we are celebrating the official blog launch with one of our favorite desserts!
The husband introduced me to this delectable dessert shortly after we got married. He & his step-mom used to get these all the time at one of their special restaurants; he just had to make me a fan, also. It is one of my favorite treats now. I don’t want to know how many calories these babies are, but I’m sure it’s way more than my allotted daily calories…so these are a rare, once-in-a-while dessert.
You can make mudslides with either a pizza stone or a small cast-iron pan, and the preparation is pretty much the same. We use the pizza stone when we have friends over and need to make a lot of cookies, and the cast-iron pan when it’s just the two of us.
Ingredients & Tools:
Chocolate chip cookie dough
Ice cream {vanilla is traditional, but chocolate is also yummy}
Mini cast-iron pan or pizza stone
*Optional: Chocolate sauce and whipped cream
1. Gather up your ingredients, and as you open the tub-o-dough try as best as you can not to stuff your face with it. Restraint is key here.*Drool*
2. If you are using a pizza stone, place 4 – 5 large spoon-fulls of cookie dough around the stone. If cooking with a cast-iron pan, add 2 large spoon-fulls of dough to the center of the pan.
3. Bake dough at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. You want the cookies to be soft but cooked. That perfect, gooey, in-between state.
4. Using a spatula, place the cookie in a bowl. Cover with a ton of ice cream; if you’d like squirt chocolate syrup and whipped cream on top!
