Today I’m sharing a super quick and easy project with you. For some time now I’ve been trying to come up with a simple centerpiece idea that can easily switch between my dining table and kitchen island. Most of the time our kitchen table is too full of clutter to have anything pretty on it, and the island is clutter-free. But when we have guests over and the island is our serving bar, I want something to look nice on the table. These coffee filter flowers are the perfect solution to what I need. They’re also a cute alternative to fresh cut flowers {which can get expensive}.
What You’ll Need:
3 coffee filters {per flower}
Lollipop sticks {to your desired height}
Scotch Tape
Scissors
1. Fold your coffee filter in halves until it looks like the picture above {top left}. With your scissors, round the top of the coffee filter. If you’ll notice in the pictures, each scalloped edge gets deeper. I used the deepest edge for the outside and the most shallow on the inside. Trim a tiny bit off the bottom to make a hole in the center of your filter.
2. Twist each coffee filter around the lollipop stick and tape down.
Now you have a beautifully simple centerpiece. Not bad for 5 minutes of work, huh?
I just placed mine in a mason jar I had around and tied it with some jute twine. It could look even more beautiful with some type of vase-filler: rice, jelly beans, sand, rocks, anything you can think of; dying the filters would bring so much depth to the flowers, also.
There are so many possibilities when it comes to these easy-to-make flowers. If you have some cool ideas I’d love to see them…e-mail me: sam {at} atkinsondrive {dot} com.
These are so stinkin’ cute! Love it.
Adorable! I’ve seen the wreaths made from coffee filters but not flowers! I love this! Thanks again for linking up to the CHQ blog hop! Hope to see you next week! Bring a friend!! =)
