Until we can get our playroom built-ins made I have been trying to think up cute, easy, affordable ways to liven the room it up a bit. Everything will be moved around eventually, but for now the walls are empty and bare.
I really wanted to make the playroom a place where little man can grow up easily – nothing too babyish. But while he’s little I want him to have bright fun colors to inspire him.
We chose a beautiful blue color for the walls that will grow with little man, and the current furniture is painted Paris Grey…lots of neutral options. I have decided to bring color in through not only the toys displayed in the room, but with printables & little man’s art work. All of these things are easily changed – nothing permanent!
I really wanted something like this playroom designed by Mabley Handler Interior Design. {GORGEOUS}
My original playroom wall art inspiration came from Simply Stated {a Real Simple Blog}. But, after weeks of searching for cheap vintage frames, I had all but given up on being able to do a fun artwork wall. Until our highly successful Ikea trip that is…

In the ‘Under $5′ section, I found some blue frames for only $2 each {perfect for artwork}. I almost passed them up so I could go for my original plan; then I realized that
a) for $2 each I could replace them later without guilt
b) I may never find exactly what I’m looking for at a price I’m willing to spend.
So, of course, I took the plunge and got 5 frames {only $10!!!} – 2 for printable artwork and 3 for kids’ masterpieces.
I loved the printables on my computer screen; but once I hung them on the wall, I knew I had to share them with you!
So what do you guys think?! {Feel free to comment below; let me know of any printable quotes & ideas you’d like to see on the blog}.
