Chevron Burlap Fall Wreath

September 23, 2013 By Sam 21 Comments

It’s about that time…time for the weather to cool, leaves to start turning, and time for me to transform my home into a lovely celebration of the changing season. I was really in love with the Spring lemon wreath I made earlier this year – that’s why I left it up for two seasons! But, while lemons work well for Summer as well as Spring, I didn’t figure that I could pull the look off for Fall. Not to mention, I was starting to crave some Fall color and rustic texture.

Fortunately for me, we just got a Hobby Lobby! It’s literally down the street from my house, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! So while I was perusing the store the other day, I found some adorable patterned burlap ribbon and knew it would be the perfect thing for my Fall wreath. They had all sorts of patterns and it was really difficult to choose which one I wanted, but – let’s face it – I’m obsessed with chevron…so chevron it was!

This is probably one of the easiest wreaths I’ve ever made. All I did was wrap the burlap around my foam wreath core, pinning the ribbon down every few inches. It took me one 15′ roll to wrap the 12″ wreath. Then to spice it up a bit, I took some random Fall floral accents and tucked them into the ribbon (I used pins to help hold everything in place). Don’t you love the bit of sparkle it brings?

So, while I am in no way close to being done with my Fall decorating, this wreath has kick-started my inspiration. I plan on bringing in plenty more color, pattern, and texture, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Love this creative wreath, Sam! I’ve done a few things with the black chevron burlap, but haven’t seen the orange one out yet…looks like I better make a trip to the craft store real fast! Already pinned!

Oh. So. Cute! It is very eye-catch-y. Hobby Lobby is my favorite store…I love their sales…don’t know how they stay in business but I’m not going to worry about it…sign up to get their coupons too. I saw your post over at “Southern Hospitality” Fall blog party.
