One of my dear friends is having a baby boy soon, and I have been racking my brain to figure out what to give her. When I saw a version of these bags online, I knew I had found the perfect gift!
Those of you following me on Instagram might have seen this picture a few weeks ago giving you a sneak-peek of the bags.
All of you moms {and dads} understand the difficulty of wrangling little ones when it’s time to go somewhere…especially during those first few months. When you leave the house, every child needs what seems to be the whole house, including the kitchen sink! These Baby To-Go Bags are perfect for keeping everything you’ll need for an outing all in one place.
My friend has chosen a car/transportation nursery theme, and when I saw this adorable bedding from Tiddliwinks at Target, I knew I had to get it! Unfortunately, she already had a plan for the bedding, so I decided to use the crib sheet as fabric for the bags.
All I had to do was cut out the elastic and the corner seams. I ended up with a rectangular piece of fabric with the corners cut out. I then cut the rectangles for each bag. Since sheet fabric is so thin, I opted to double it up, giving each bag a lining. All I did was sew the bags together, and make a hem at the top.
To keep the bags closed, I added a long strip of Velcro to the inside.
I love how these turned out! I wish I had these when my little man was a baby!
Here’s what I put inside:
- Romper & Matching Hat
- Gumdrop Pacifier
- 3 Size 1 Diapers
- Baby Wipes
- Pacifier Wipes
Now all my friend has to do when she’s leaving the house, is put a to-go bag or two in her baby bag and head out the door!
