I’m sure most of you know how much stuff kids can bring home from school. Last year my son’s teachers started sending home a binder on Friday. They would put the projects from the week in the binder and we could look over them then send them back on Monday. At the end of the year we got to keep the binder full of those sweet projects from the year. They included paintings, photos, drawings, writing practice, etc. It’s such a great idea, and the perfect way to keep everything organized that I decided to make my own project binder for this school year.
Every mom wants to keep memories of their child’s stick figure drawings, first letters, and more … but if you’re anything like me, it drives you crazy to have the fridge (and backpacks, and walls, and counters) cluttered with stuff. That’s why I love this binder idea. Let your child choose their favorite projects to put in the binder. It still gives the sense of pride that displaying projects on the fridge does, but everything stays in one place!
Our binder from last year also has photos of my son and his friends during special events, and “About Me” pages that talk about his favorite things, family, etc. It really is a great way to keep track of those projects/special events/quirky details you never want to forget.
